AN ANTI-WAR MONTAGE

This film montage was presented as my Final Major Project when I was studying for my Foundation Diploma in Art & Design at HCAT (Hastings College of Arts & Technology) back in 2007.
It still remains relevant today.
Inspired by the work of Christian Marclay and using clips from 'All Quiet On The Western Front' (1930) and 'Saving Private Ryan' (1998), this short film montage explores humanitarian themes around war. 'Where the Silence Reigns' tells the parallel stories of soldiers fighting for the allied and axis sides. The film aims to take away any political or moral agenda, rather focusing on the human experience of war, following in their footsteps as they hurtle towards its heartbreaking and inhumane conclusion.
